Automatic Doors & Access Integration
Installation and servicing of sliding, swing and low energy door systems, supplied as stand alone doors or fully integrated into access control systems.
Door systems for every threshold on site
Automatic sliding doors
Single, bi-parting and telescopic sliding entrances for receptions, lobbies and high traffic routes, with break-out options where escape provision is required.
Swing door operators
Drive units fitted to new or existing single and double leaf doors, including master and slave sequencing, interlocks and direction-oriented opening in corridors.
Low energy and accessible doors
Reduced force operation for wards, care settings and public buildings, moving gently enough to work safely without additional safety sensors.
Fire and escape route doors
Hold-open installations on fire barriers to BS 7273-4, sequential closing on double leaf fire doors, and operators that open or release on loss of mains power.
One operator, specified four ways
Swing door operators are specified to suit the door and the duty it carries. The same drive platform covers heavy public entrances and quiet care environments, and the configuration is set on site to the door size and spring force required.
Heavy doors, busy entrances
Adjustable spring force across a range of door sizes, with the power to move large, heavy leaves in retail, transport and office entrances.
Gentle, near silent operation
Kinetic energy limited within EN 16005 low energy criteria, so the door is safe to use where people move slowly, suiting hospitals, clinics and residential care without extra sensors.
Opens on power failure
Energy stored mechanically during closing opens the door by spring force if mains power is lost, guiding people out and venting smoke, with no emergency supply needed.
Closes reliably on alarm
Held open in normal use and closed on fire alarm to act as a fire and smoke barrier, with sequential closing where two leaves must shut in order.
A door on its own, or a door the system knows about
Many doors only need a push pad, a sensor and a service contract. Others sit on a controlled boundary, where the door has to know who is standing in front of it. ICA Systems installs both, and retrofits access control to automatic doors already on site.
Integrated doors report into the same platform as access control and CCTV, so a card read, a door release and its footage share one timeline, and out of hours behaviour follows the same schedules as the rest of the building.
- Card, fob or mobile credential release on automatic doors
- Time schedules for automatic, secured and exit only modes
- Interlocks and airlocks where two doors must not open together
- Fire alarm and intruder interfaces for release and lockdown
- Door monitoring and fault alerts alongside access control events
- Retrofit of controls to existing automatic door installations
Powered doors are safety critical
An automatic door is machinery in a public space. Every installation is risk assessed, commissioned to EN 16005 with force and sensor testing, handed over with documentation, and returned to on a service schedule for as long as it is in use.
ADIA registered
ICA Systems is a registered member of the Automatic Door Installation Association, working to its codes of practice for installation, commissioning and service.
Tested to standard
Installations assessed and commissioned to EN 16005 for powered door safety, and to BS 7273-4 where doors form part of a fire alarm actuated release or closing arrangement.
Accessible by design
Activation heights, opening speeds and hold times set so the door works for wheelchair users, trolleys, beds and people with limited mobility.
From survey to service visit
- Site survey, traffic assessment and specification of the right operator
- Installation on new doors or retrofit to existing leaves and frames
- Commissioning with force, sensor and fail-safe testing, documented at handover
- Planned maintenance visits, wear part replacement and safety re-testing
- Reactive call out for doors that have failed open, failed closed or gone offline
Talk to us about a door
Whether it is one entrance, a corridor of fire doors or a maintenance contract across an estate, ICA Systems will survey the site and specify what the door needs to do.
